July 2008. I purchased a 2008 Scion XB in May 2008 (Manual Trans). It has 4300 miles on it and about 2 months ago, when i start my car when the engine is cold, the car sputters, rough idols, mis fires whatever you want to call it. The engine also vibrates and you can feel and hear the sputtering until the motor gets hot.

Yes you can probably bolt the 5-speed auto tranny from the Camry to the Scion's engine but you will have to swap the ECU from the Camry as well as the Scion ECU is not designed for a 5-speed auto, just the 4-speed. Probably be some other sensors or wiring that wouldneed to be changed as well. I changed the oil regularly and used synthetic and changed tranny fluid every 60,000. The xB should tow fine. You do have to pay attention to what you put in the ehicle when you tow--the vehicle has a mx gross vehicle weight.

It's especially noticable when hitting bumps or small potholes in the road. It's a momentary vibration noise that is short lived, but annoying.
