On the R7000, I went to the Advanced Tab, Advanced Setup, Router/AP/Bridge, and set it to Bridge Mode. I also went into the Advanced Wireless settings and disabled the 2.4G radio. The garage R7000 does not support any WiFi clients. I believe how to do this is described in the R7000 User Manual. Otherwise you lose other internet traffic. Plug your computer directly into the gateway and then access the Admin Tool by going to 10.0.0.1 (or whatever ip you changed it to). When you log in to the tool, the bridge mode toggle should be on the first page you access (At a Glance). I just did this myself last weekend.
