I have also been collecting them by running freighter fleet missions with my frigates pretty consistently for several weeks. Sometimes the industrial missions bring them, but one of my balanced missions brought one a couple days ago. ….

Yeah they must have borked something during one of the recent updates. You should be able to find all the SFMs in a cluster of freighters before escaping. You can get frigate salvage modules from frigate missions. Industrial missions seem to give the most. Just keep sending out frigates you will get all you need and more. You can also get them from derilict freighters.I do this as salvaged frigate modules are a pain in the ass to aquire. If you don't want to roleplay as a pirate, getting those modules is very difficult. It's kind of put me off a little bit lately on NMS, having to farm all those modules. Wasn't exactly excited for this update lol. The upgrades are so expensive too.
